Stereoscopic 3D — the kind of 3D you get from a headset or a pair of polarized glasses — works by delivering one image to each eye and letting the brain fuse them. It is a clever hack on the visual system, but it is a hack. The cues that tell your eyes how far to focus and how far to converge end up disagreeing, because the actual focal plane is the screen at the front of the headset, not the simulated object somewhere in space.
That mismatch is what makes long sessions in stereoscopic 3D uncomfortable. The visual system is doing extra work to reconcile two contradictory signals. After twenty or thirty minutes, most viewers report eye strain, headache, or nausea — and the percentage who can tolerate it for a full work day is small.
True holographic display avoids the trade entirely. Instead of two flat images, the display reconstructs the actual light field of the scene. The light arriving at your eye is geometrically the same as the light that would arrive if the object were physically present. Your eyes focus and converge on the same point, because the cue agrees with the reality.
The hardware to do this is harder. The math is harder. The content pipeline is harder. But the result is a display that multiple viewers can use, simultaneously, for hours, without strain, without hygiene concerns, and without an installation step on each viewer's face.
Glasses are a tax on the audience. We have decided not to charge it. Every Nexa product is glasses-free and headset-free by design, and will remain so. If we ever ship a headset, you will know we have given up.
